H2S DEGASSING

EFFICIENTLY, EFFECTIVELY AND ECONOMICALLY
REDUCE HYDROGREN SULPHIDE (H2S)

The end result is improved formed product friability and increased solid Sulphur strength.

Enersul developed the HYSPECTM Degassing Process to quickly, effectively, and economically reduce the H2S content of liquid Sulphur. PATENTED H2S DEGASSING PROCESS

Incoming Sulphur is pumped through the HYSPECTM Sulphur Degasser, where the H2S is subsequently removed in the process. The Sulphur is pumped into the first reactor and is cascaded through each of the subsequent reactors. The appropriate amount of catalyst is injected into the first and/or second reactor and the last reactor is used to purge the catalyst from the liquid Sulphur. Inside each reactor is an impeller shroud assembly, essentially a pump that draws the ambient air and liquid Sulphur together within the shroud.

The high shear rates and intense profusion of bubbles generated by the impeller causes intimate contact and throughout mixing of the air, Sulphur and catalyst. The catalyst causes the Hydrogen Polysulphides (H2SX) to quickly decompose to H2S which is rapidly transferred from the liquid phase into the gaseous phase by the enormous number of highly agitated bubbles. The catalyst is selected for the temperature range of the incoming Sulphur and ease of removal in the last reactor.

MODULAR EFFICIENCY

The HYSPECTM degassing plant consists of a compact skid designed for a smaller footprint, on which the reactors and associated equipment are mounted. The number of reactors will depend primarily on the liquid Sulphur flow rate and initial H2S concentration. Every situation is different, and every client will need different specifications for their own degassing unit.

Enersul’s HYSPECTM Sulphur Degasser can be altered to fit more reactor if needed, meaning every client can have the perfect degasser fit for their Sulphur needs. The HYSPECTM Sulphur Degasser can also be altered in the event those Sulphur needs evolve over time.
